We organize several social events throughout the year which include: 

• Potluck: Organized to promote networking and work-life balance in graduate school. The students bring food they cooked to share with their colleagues.
• Socials: Organized to promote networking and work-life balance in graduate school.
• Pen Pals program: SEGSO puts in touch an incoming graduate student with a current chapter member helping the new student to build relationships and answer some questions regarding the transition to graduate school at UIUC.
