In partnership with the U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF) and the New Zealand Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE), the Royal Society of New Zealand administers the East Asia and Pacific Summer Institutes Program (EAPSI).
Each year, the EAPSI program provides 15 U.S. graduate students in science and engineering first-hand research experience to conduct research in New Zealand laboratories and to initiate personal relationships with their New Zealand counterparts. The program also introduces the students to New Zealand science policy infrastructure and provides an orientation to New Zealand culture. Participants in the program represent a wide variety of research areas and are hosted by various institutions, including universities and crown research institutes across New Zealand.
- This message is to advise that the U.S.-based call for applicants is currently open. In 2015, the NSF will select 15 excellent students to visit New Zealand beginning June 2016
- The submission deadline for applications is Thursday, November 5, 2015
- Please note that applicants to the EAPSI program must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents
- The Royal Society of New Zealand will support the 8-week visit, hosting a 2-day Orientation program for the successful Fellows in Wellington, New Zealand.
