Alumni Seminar

What? Three alumni from UIUC are returning to campus to present the work they have done since they have graduated.

When? Friday, February 24, 2017

2:00 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.

Where? NCEL 1310

The seminar includes three 30 minute presentations from Julia Plews (Sandia Labs), Laura Linderman (University of Minnesota), and Ray Folz (Exxon Mobil). This is a good time to see how UIUC CEE alumni continue to make differences in the world after they graduate.
 
Additionally, this seminar will count as a special seminar toward the CEE-595S course. So be sure to take notes and take advantage of this extra opportunity to fill the seminar course’s requirements.

Currently at Thornton Tomasetti, both Mr. Swiatek and Dr. Hart completed their Masters degrees at UIUC and Dr. Hart additionally completed his Ph.D. This is a good opportunity to speak with alumni of our department and see how attending UIUC benefitted their transition to working in the industry. Additionally, Dr. Hart provides a unique point of view as he works in the industry with a Ph.D.

Opportunity to connect with on campus and online students!

Hello!

The Spring 2017 study-buddy program helps students to connect with other on campus and online students that are taking the same course.  This is to have everybody discuss course material and be able to understand it a little bit better through collaboration with peers. With this program you will also be able to make connections with other on campus and online students which will no doubt aid in your future endeavors.  The courses that we are considering for this program are CEE462 and CEE570. Let us know if you are interested to expand the program to other courses.
